Read John 13:34–35.

Jesus commanded His disciples to “love one another: just as I have loved you.” The Lord used Himself as the example of love.

Why did the Lord use His love as the example of how we are to love others?

What do you allow to get in the way of being able to love others like Jesus does?

When someone has wronged you, does the love that Christ has for you come to mind before anything else? Why or why not? Does it change your view of how a situation should be approached?

Jesus told His followers that their identity in Him would be exemplified through their love for one another. Based upon how you love others, would people be able to recognize your identity in Jesus Christ? Why or why not?
