Here are a few simple ways you can apply today’s Scripture to your life:

As followers of Jesus, we can expect difficult times of tribulation to come. When we face persecution from the sinful world, feel the rebellious desires of our own flesh or experience spiritual warfare, remember that God has permanently spared us from the penalty of His judgment. If you feel frightened, tempted or weak, think upon Jesus Christ, who is the Lamb of God who shed His blood to spare us from the worst thing imaginable: experiencing God’s wrath. Allow this truth to make you bold when facing persecution, steadfast under temptation and resilient against the attacks of the devil.

Whenever life feels especially difficult, remember the promise of Heaven. Soon, we will be before the throne of God, free to worship Him without the weight of sin or the persecution of the world to hinder us. Perhaps you have a friend or family member who is a believer yet feels they have reached the end of their rope. Encourage them by reminding them of the hope of Heaven, where the Good Shepherd will care for us and shelter us in His presence.

This week, read Psalm 16 and take time to thank the Lord for saving you and providing for all of your needs, both temporally and eternally.
