Fit 4 The Cross
This is a fitness ministry designed to improve our mental, emotional and spiritual health. The sole purpose of F4TC is to be in our best physical shape so that we can have the most energy to glorify God in our daily prayer, Bible study, fellowship, in-reach, daily relationships and outreach. When we have a strong healthy body we are less likely to be stressed and tired and allow the burdens of the world to weigh heavy on us. Our verse for F4TC is Romans 12:1-2, “Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God” (HCSB). We meet in the FBG GYM every Tuesday/Thursday and have 45-minute sessions starting at 5:30, 6:15 and 7:00 a.m. Please contact Clayton Carnley at Claycarnley@kw.com to get more information.
Play softball every Monday night during the spring and summer against other churches in the Georgetown community. This is an excellent way for men of all ages to fellowship and form friendships over a simple game. There is always an intentional time of prayer and encouragement after each game. Both teams gather around the pitcher’s mound and petition the Lord on each other’s behalf. It's a fantastic way to get to know brothers in Christ from other churches and denominations as well as strengthen the bonds between guys within FBG. Contact Jacob Walker at email@example.com for sign-up info.
Men’s Ministry and Georgetown Nest Project
This is an outreach with the high school boys at Georgetown Nest Project. These are kids who voluntarily go to the Nest after school Mondays through Thursdays until 6:00 p.m. They have study time, lessons, dinner, and conclude with free time from 5:15-6:00 p.m. before the busses take them home. There are between two to 15 boys each night. As a group, we participate with them three to four times a year by taking them to ball games, fishing, to participate in a community outreach, etc. These are good kids that need a good role model. In order to participate with us you have to fill out the GISD volunteer application at the GISD website. Below is the link to do so. Between one day and two weeks later you will get an acceptance email that needs to be forwarded to John Gabriel at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please consider joining this project with us. Click on this link, then choose “FastTrackOnline Application/Background Check,” then choose Volunteer 15-16 and fill out the form.
Helping Hands is a deacon-led ministry to help mostly widows and widowers with everyday tasks and repairs around their homes when they are no longer able to, or it is unsafe for them to do so. You do not need to be a deacon to participate in this great cause for our church outreach. Contact John Gabriel at email@example.com.
These are six-week DVD studies with small group discussions designed to point men to a gospel-centered life that enjoys God’s grace as we pursue His promises. Contact Jay Warren at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the email list for the next study. The cost is $15 for each six-week session. We usually meet from 6:00-7:30 a.m. Fridays to get you to work on time. Some sessions are also offered at 7:05 p.m. Wednesdays.
