Executive Pastor

Joe serves as Executive Pastor of FBCgT and is passionate about seeing the people and ministers of the church reach their potential in the ministries of the Kingdom. He believes in empowering and guiding people to make a difference in their daily lives and professional lives.

Joe’s path to First Baptist has been an interesting one. He served as Executive Pastor of a sister church in Mansfield, Texas, for 12 years; and as General Manager of a company in Arlington, Texas, for a year. Prior to that time, he and his family served as missionaries with the International Mission Board in East Africa. There, he served as Business Manager of the mission. He also served as a community development specialist in the bush utilizing agricultural techniques to build relationships that would allow him to share the Gospel. Additionally, he also worked with churches in church planting, church growth, and religious education. Prior to being a missionary, Joe was in the livestock industry for 12 years in sales and sales management.

Joe and his wife, Jayme, were high school sweethearts in their hometown of De Kalb, Texas (a small town in northeast Texas). They have two twenty-something children: daughter Jennifer, and a son, Jordan. For fun, Joe and Jayme enjoy sports, hunting, hiking, working out, yard work, and playing golf.

Joe is a graduate of Texas A&M University and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
