If the church were a university, David would be one of its most tenured professors. As a member since 1985 and part of the support and ministerial staff since 1987, David now provides care for people in the church and community, referrals for counseling, and leadership of FBCGT’s care and recovery ministries. His common-sense approach to life and caring might belie his academic mindset, but a Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family Counseling from Denver Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University encourages a person in need that they are receiving help from both a warm and knowledgeable source.
Ellen, his wife of 36 years, works as an RN at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. His eldest son lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and works as a research scientist for Disney and is married to Elizabeth. David's youngest son has completed his service in the US Air Force in Alexandria, Virginia and is moving back to Texas to become a game warden with Texas Parks and Wildlife; he is also married to Ashley, the daughter of FBCGT members Danny and Kim Marriott.
